I know that to reach my goals for the next season and time forward, I've got to be fully committed to my sport, like I am; and everything that comes with it. I will have to train and practice even more, both physical exercise for me and especially many lessons together with my teammate, my horse. I am fully aware of the fact that I set my goals high, but as said I believe that's essential in getting where you want to be. I am willing to do whatever it takes to get where I want to be; and if I won't reach my goals this year, I will do it next year. And I might even reach them before I expect to; time will tell!
My long term goals/dreams is to become among the best in my sport, a top showjumper. This includes participation in the biggest shows and championships, like World, Olympic and European games. This would be reaching the ultimate goal/dream and is the main point in a long term plan over decades. Though this plan contains a lot of short term goals I need to accomplish before these main goals can be accomplished in the future.
For now, my goal is to be as good as I can be and develop into a good technical rider. Though I believe having detailed goals and knowing how you want to get where you want to be is key. Therefore I have more detailed goals too, which of course depends on many factors. My 2016 goals for me and Santo are:
•To within the first half of the 2016 season be well established in 1.10-1.20m classes, and to produce good consistent results in these classes •To take part in some bigger shows/classes to gain experience •Compete and get comfortable in 1.25-1.30m within the second half of the 2016 season •If the development allows it, compete in and get experience from 1.30-1.35m classes within the second half of 2016/first half of 2017 season •If financially and technically possible, compete at international shows like the Arctic games, Drammen Springtour and Kingsland Oslo Horse Show
